Indirect illumination bringing a smile from just a sound
From in a Chat Room.. sharing sounds and thoughts.
My life is very busy with work, family and personal commitments I have found music very relaxing and good for the soul. I find you to be a positive person and your words that reflect that ten fold. Perhaps that is the reason why you crossed my path to remind me of these things. I don’t even know why I am telling you this.….i hope your doing well…….

Good morning, I am sending you a poem I wrote; one that was put to music and Tundy sang it in the jazz room. The World is full of surprises, Smile.
Hi David... I'm listening to Jeff Lorber as I type this wow "I Am Thinking
About you" my favorite song! An open Heart is the Key to it All. Also I believe everyone
is good until their actions prove otherwise. My heart has been healing for a
long time, but..............It's better now , free from exile as i broke down
the tower I built around myself....smashed the bricks with a big hammer like the
Berlin Wall...........emerging freeeeeeeeeeeee!! ME.
I understood the text you sent me at many levels. i practice meditation, so the part about "telling the
mind to back off" I do understand.
Searching for the state of mind
Now... how about, with an open heart and not a tired mind, there was a fresh psychological and scientific vision that just begins with an already defined sound and associating the "audio" signal with a "visual" direction. You know: "That sounds bright, with a direction or path, a voyage through the ocean or water to land maybe with trees, mountains or hills then up through the clouds to the sky and then into space seeing the beautiful earth and returning to an area of people that all share an attitude, curious, interested, or in wonder." Basically the artist would need to be free and interested in abstract association with what the song is wanting to say. All of this is hard, telling the mind to back off and let the heart use the hand to point to where it feels the project should go.
Remember in school somebody did an experiment with three of the same plants put in different isolated areas with three forms of music, in time two forms didn’t make the plants flourish, but one, maybe it was J.S. Bach, that caused the plant to grow or become vibrant. Maybe the song or sound statements could be visually manifested using computer graphics along with “heart” desired clips from National Graphics or Public Broadcasting kinds of themes or even “Artist defined video stuff”. If you made it this far, maybe it reached your heart and you would explore a difficult and the hardest way to develop, create a visual statement related to a “song”. With an open and relaxed state of mind, it might be worth exploring.
